The Vampire Who Admires Me (2008)

Beginning scene, a couple has sex in a cemetery. The girl gets hurt and her blood wakes a vampire in the grave. The vampire grabs the girl and scratches the guy.

Macy (J.J. Jia) lives by herself but she has the six sense. Her dead grandmother speaks to her and the spirit lives with Macy in the apartment. Macy and BiBi (Ankie Beilke) is a young fashion model. They are doing a photo shoot with "young and dead" as the theme. The photographer asks to go to a real cemetery so they go to the producer, Mr. King's (Samuel Pang) ancestral home on East Dragon Island.

On the island Mr. King's house keeper is the guy that was scratched by the vampire. He is starting to look like a ghost himself. Mr. King and all his models have a party at night and he sleeps with the big boob model Chelsea (Natalie Meng). All the while, the house keeper tells Macy that a vampire has killed him and now he will turn into a vampire too. The house keeper also said that the king of vampires will be woken soon.

On the other side Sha Dan Wei (Roger Kwok) is a local cop helping a woman look for her daughter (which is the one taken by the vampire). The next morning one of the cops finds out Macy is an old classmate of his. They share information about the vampire. The cops go to ask the oldest local on the island about the king of vampires. He said that Grandpa King died 60 years ago. His son inherited all the money and bullied a family until their death. The family's daughter-in-law committed suicide in front of Grandpa King's grave and cursed him to roam as a vampire. Days later Grandpa King came out of the grave and killed his own family. Luckily there was a powerful monk on the island that sealed Grandpa King to his grave.

The seal is broken and the photographer choose Grandapa King's grave as the perfect spot for his theme. Grandpa King's awakes and all the vampires come out to feed. Vampires can be killed with fire and staked at the heart. While running away from Grandpa King Macy's cop friend gets scratched. While stuck between vampire and human form he straps himself to a gasoline canister and grabs Grandpa King. Sha Dan Wei shoots into the canister and the vampires both blow up.

Finally, Macy goes home safely. Unknowingly she brought back the hand of her dead friend and it was trying to get out.

Look For A Star (2009)

Andy Lau narrates* legend has it that fortuitous is like a glass globe. The globe fell from the sky and shattered to pieces. People all around picked up the pieces. Some got more and some got less but no one can pick up all the pieces.

Sam Ching (Andy Lau) is an owner of a corporation that owns MGM Hotel in Shanghai. He flies to Shanghai with his secretary, Jo Kwok (Denise Ho) to conduct meetings for the hotel. He is a kind boss that tries to set up his long time driver Tim Ma (Lam Ka-Wah) with a girl and tries to help Jo find a boyfriend.

Sam meets Milan Sit (Shu Qi) while she was working in the hotel. Milan is a poor girl living in Shanghai that is an inspired tap dancer. She was substituting a casino dealer. Andy Lau happens to meet her in the elevator and on the Pak Ga Lok table. Andy finds Milan interesting for her tap dancing in the elevator and mistaking him for a gambling addict. Sam and Milan start a relationship together.

Time progresses, Jo meets a poor electrician in the hotel and falls in love with him. Tim falls in love with a Shanghaian with a child and Sam falls in love with Milan. Sam breaks it to Milan that he is the rich guy that owns MGM Hotel. Milan accepts him even though she knows that their social status will cause trouble.

He proposes to her but his financial advisors urge him have her sign an pre-nuptial agreement. Sam had three wifes before and one of them took half his fortune. Sam and Milan's relationship turns sour. At the same time Jo and Tim is having similar problems with their new found love. All three of them are in love with people that are lower in social status.

Sam, Jo and Tim decide to take their love to a reality tv show that specializes in bringing guests that are looking for their happiness. Jo and Tim's lovers came on the show and successfully got back together. However Milan did not show up as such she rejected Sam on public TV. Sam remember that Milan is a person that is true to everyone around her and doesn't care for money. Sam leaves the show and finds Milan at their first date spot. 

Milan tells him that she really wants to come but is not ready for his world. Then she presents him with a ring and tells him that she is ready for him to join her world. Sam accepts.

Legendary Assassin (2008)

Bo (Wu Jing) is chowing down lots of food at a cafe. It makes him feel satisfied and alive to be able to eat. The restaurant owner walks by and gives him a bowling ball bag. He asks her if god would ever forgive them for what they've done. She tells him that it depends on how he look at things.

He takes the bag and goes to a rural Hong Kong Island. He hides outside a temple watching Chairman Ma (Kou Zhan Wen) and his bodyguards. In a quick swift Bo comes out and knocks the bodyguards down. Chairman Ma comes out with a big sword and continues a long fight scene with Bo. At the end Bo kills Ma and leaves the scene.

When Bo walks to dock, he hears that there is a level 8 typhoon and all the ferries are closed. He turns around to look for shelter and food. On a small street he sees Hiu Wor (Celina Jade) on a tree trying to get her cat down. Accidentally she slips and Bo saves her. Hiu Wor apologizes for the scare and ripping his shirt. She let's him into her house. She saw his bowling ball bag and asks him what he is doing in the island. He says that he is there on vacation and he teaches bowling.

She takes him to eat at the only place open during a typhoon. While eating fishball noodles they hear the radio about three bank robbers that got away now in suspicion of hiding in the island. She turns around and sees three suspicious guys eating noodles. She walks over and asks them for their IDs. The big ugly guy chokes her and Bo comes to save her. He knocks the guys up and another crazy fight scene.

At the end Bo beats down the three guys and the cops come. Hiu asks Bo to go to the police station with her. She is a cop and wanted him to leave a testimony. Everyone really likes Bo for saving Hiu and helping them solve a big case. Except, Tarzan (Sammy Leung) is jealous of Bo and picks on him. Everyone asks Bo to stay and eat dinner. Hiu is very nice to Bo and they wash dishes together then Bo teaches her to fight. They exchange tactics and have fun doing it.

All the while, Chairman Ma's men lead by Fat Wing(Lam Suet) came to the island to look for their boss. They found a headless Chairman Ma and one of his bodyguards says that the assassin was holding a bag. Mrs. Ma (Aoyama Noriko) calls to instruct Fat Wing that they have to find Chairman Ma's head. The men spread out to look for his head.

Hiu and Tarzan go out to inspect a complaint. They find several of Ma's men and Ma's headless body. They get into a fight and wins because Bo was secretly helping. They take the body back to the police station. Mrs. Ma finds out and tells Fat Wing to get the body back. Fat Wing and the followers invade the police station and left Bao (Alex Fong) dead.

More police come to the island to solve the case and they suspect Bo to be the assassin. Hiu inspected Bo's bag and found a bowling ball so they let him off the island. When he got to mainland Hong Kong Mrs. Ma's men were waiting for him. He accidentally drops the bag and the bowling ball rolls out and the inside the ball was Chairman Man's head.

Mrs. Ma kidnapps Hiu and trapes Bo back to the island. Mrs. Ma ties Hiu up and lines her men to wait for Bo. When Bo comes a hundred men attack him and they go into a long fist fight. Everyone is down even Bo. Mrs. Ma walks over with a Japanese sword. She wants to take his head but Hiu finally gets free and knocks Mrs. Ma. Behind Mrs. Ma goes out she stabs Bo. Before Bo passes out he says that the time he had with Hiu was the happiest he's ever had.

Hiu narrates. Bo has left and didn't leave anything. She's been researching why he killed Chairman Ma. She has found that Chairman Ma once kidnapped a doctor name Audrey White and at the end kills her.

Bo narrates. He leaves the bowling ball bag infront of Audrey White's grave and says that this was the only thing he could do for her because she had saved his life.

Martial Butterfly Lover (2008)

Narrator explains that legend has it that the story of Shan-Pak and Ying-Tai is reincarnation of Weaving Goddess and the Cowherd. They are destined to relive their tradegic love story for ten lives. One live of which is Liang Chun-Shan and Zhu Yan-Gi.

Zhu Yan-Gi (Charlene Choi) is a daugther of a weathy winery owner. She dressed up as a young man to enroll in the all-male Soul Ease Clan to learn marital arts. Her childhood friend Ma (Hu Ge) escorts her to the martial school. In the beginning she hates the eldest brother, Chu-Shan (Wu Jun) for picking on her. When he begins teaching her martial arts they start to have respect for each other. Yan-Gi does really cute things like drawing butterflies on Chu-Shan's sword and drinking for Chu-Shan in a match. 

Yan-Gi always had a dream of a man with his back turned in a middle of a flower field but doesn't know who he is. 

Yan-Gi is very bad at martial arts even with Chu-Shan's help. They both work very hard to keep Yan-Gi in school. The head herbal teacher, Herb Head (Harlem Yu), is the only one that knows Yan-Gi is a girl. He lets her stay in his herbs room and becomes her confidante. He has her help him test a new drug he made that allows a person to fake death. A person appears dead but comes back to live after taking a certain herb. Herb Head takes the drug and everyone at school thinks he is dead. The second day Yan-Gi goes to the mountain to find the herb but falls unconsciences because of dehidration. Chu-Shan gets worried and goes to look for her. He finds her and when he tries to revive her Chu-Shan finds out Yan-Gi is a woman. 

After that day they start flirting and falling for each other. That's when they found out Yan-Gi's family has been in trouble with corrupted governments and that's why they sent her to the martial school. Ma has been helping conspire with another government offical to save Yan-Gi's family. Ma is madly in love with Yan-Gi. Yan-Gi's father forces her to marry Ma because Ma saved the family. 

She gets locked up because she wouldn't marry Ma. Chu-Shan gets extremely wounded by Ma's men trying to see Yan-Gi. When he got to Yan-Gi she stabs him in the chest because she wanted to him to forget their love. She has to marry Ma or Ma would send his men to kill her parents and Chu-Shan. 

Herb Head perfects his drug and sneaks to see Yan-Gi. Herb Head tells her to take the drug and she will come back to live after 3 days. When everyone thinks she is dead, she can run away with Chu-Shan. Before Herb Head could savely leave the premises to tell Chu-Shan the plan Herb Head gets killed by Ma's men. 

Yan-Gi drinks the drug on the day of her wedding. Everyone thinks she is dead. Chu-Shan is so heart broken he goes to Yan-Gi's funeral to retrieve her body. Ma fights Chu-Shan at the funeral. Chu-Shan is so hurt he's about to die. Seeing this Ma lets him go with Yan-Gi's body. 

Chu-Shan takes her to a field of flowers and digs a grave big enough for the both of them. He lays next to her and tells her he always dreamed of being with her in the flower field. When the martial brothers find the pair laying in the grave, out of grieve, they start buring the grave. That is when Yan-Gi wakes up from her fake death. When she sees Chu-Shan dead laying next to her. She says that butterflies should be in pairs and not lonely. She closes her eyes and is buried along with Chu-Shan. 

The end scene, Yan-Gi and Chu-Shan is happy holding hands in the flower field.

Painted Skin (2008)

During an invasion General Wang Sheng(Chen Kun) saves Xiao Wei (Zhou Xun) and takes her home. Except General did not really save Xiao Wei. She was a demon that feeds off human hearts. She wears a beautiful human skin to cover her demon face and the hearts keep her skin fresh.

General's wife Pei Rong (Vicki Zhao) treats Xiao Wei like a sister. The three of them live together happily and Xiao Wei starts to fall for in love with the General. The General has feelings for Xiao Wei too.

Pei Rong starts to suspect Xiao Wei is a demon because when she arrived there was cases of heart-taking murders and Xiao Wei's hand miraculously heals after an accident. Pei Rong asks Pang Yong(Donnie Yen)for help.

Pang Yong was an ex-general that ran away from the army when he became tired of war. He was the General's superior and Pei Rong's ex-lover. He came back after being missing for years to see Pei Rong.

Pang Yong recruits a decedent of a family of "ghost busters", Xia Bing (Betty Sun), to help him fight Xiao Wei. No one would believe that the sweet Xiao Wei was a demon and they couldn't find any hard evidence.

Xiao Wei finally takes off her skin in front of Pei Rong and she was made up of worms. Xiao Wei asks Pei Rong to leave the General. Pei Rong made a deal to drink poison and tell everyone herself was the demon so Xiao Wei would not hurt anyone.

The General loves his wife so much that he doesn't care whether she is the demon or not. He saw that she was dying and kills himself. Xiao Wei saw that the General had such a devotion to love and everything she worked for was useless she decides to trade her life for his life. She spits out her life energy and gives it to the General. Once Xiao Wei dies everyone that was under her poison comes back to life.

Isabella (2006)

 Ma Chen-Shing (Chapman To) thought that Cheung bik-yun (Isabella Leong) was a prostitute that he had slept with. Cheung hits Ma in the head and they are both bleeding in the hospital. Cheung tells Ma that she is his daugther. 

Cheung tells him that she needed the money to get in to her arparmtent. Her mother died last June of lung cancer. She has no money to pay rent for 4 months and the landlord has locked her door. Her dog, Isabella, is locked inside. The landlord has thrown the dog out. Cheung and Ma walks around looking for the dog and he asks her why call the dog Isabella. Cheung says that her mother gave it to her not long after her illness. She later found out the dog was named after her mother.

There is a large investigation that is following the handover of Macau back to China of crocket cops. Ma is planning to go on refuge. Cheung is excited to go with and goes shopping for toiletries the need to hide. They go out at night to drink and have lots of fun. She tells him that she always run into him when she was little.

Cheung tells her school friend that she has a new boyfriend that is a gangster and she is going to run away with him. The friend is concerned for her and calls Ma. The friend tells Ma to convince Cheung to stay. He only wants her to be happy.

Ma picks up Cheung's cellphone while she was gone and it was a call from Cheung's mother's friend. It turns out that was Cheung's biological father. Ma meets up with the man and the man told him that Cheung's mother had actually aborted the child she had with Ma. Cheung was the child she conceived with the man and they had broken up after that. Turn out Cheung's mother never told her that Ma was her father. She guessed it because her mother would I was look upset and turn away when they ran into Ma in the street.

When Ma goes home he thinks long about what to do with Cheung and decides to give her a normal live. He admitted he was very scared when Cheung's mother got preganent and he stole to get money for her abortion. He sold his Rolex to pay for rent enough for Cheung for three years and the money from the refuge should be enough for her live on.

The day of court Ma shaves and dresses in a suit. Cheung drives him in her scooter to the court house. When he is on the stairs, Cheung tells him she will wait for him outside.

Connected (2008)

Grace Wong (Barbie Hsu) gets kidnapped by a group of men. Fok Tak-Nang(Liu Ye) keeps asking her "where is it?" but she has no idea what they are talking about. They kill her maid, her brother's friend and kidnaps her daughter too. While captive in a barn in middle of no where she was able to tap a broken phone. Using the pulse from the broken phone she finally gets connected to Bob's (Louis Koo) cellphone.

Bob doesn't want to help Grace at first because he was in a rush to see his son off at the airport. Bob's character is an incapable man to take care of his family. His wife left him and his son is leaving Hong Kong with Bob's sister. He has a crappy job as a debt collector.

He has a good heart and tries to save Grace's daughter from the kidnappers. Then he tries to save the brother from the kidnappers but all fails. He gets really hurt and even becomes a wanted by the cops.

The cop, Yu Yan-fai (Nick Cheung) gets involved in this when Bob pulls him over to report Grace's call and even got Nick to talk to Grace on the phone. Yu doesn't believe Bob and leaves. Yu has a very good instinct for crime solving. He decides to go to check out the address that Grace said was her house. He finds a suspicious woman saying she was Grace. He didn't believe her so he sneaked in the house and the woman started shooting at him. They fight and he kills her. Then her badge drops out of her pocket and Nick finds out she works for the Interpol.

While following the bad guys Bob finds the stuff they were looking for. It was a video tape Grace's brother accidentally recorded of the men. The men are corrupted Interpol agents. They had executed a bunch of drug dealers and then keeps the drugs for themselves.

Bob sends the bad guys to the airport and tells them to release Grace and her family. If they don't then he will give the cops the tape. After a long struggle, with Yu's help and airport police they arrest the bad guys.

BUT Yu's supervisor was one of the bad guys. He gets to the scene and releases the bad guys and steals the camcorder from Bob. Then Nick finds out in time to save Bob. They come into a big struggle and all the bad guys die.

Grace and her family gets free and the news reporters rush to the scene. They report that Bob was the hero that's been helping Grace's family. Bob's son see's Bob on TV and rushes out of the airport to be with his father.

Beast Stalker (2008)

Sergeant Tong Fei (Nicholas Tse) meets his team at a dim sum restaurant to prep for a bust. They charge up to an apartment and one officer gets shot. After the bust Tong screams at one of his team mates for not paying attention that led to another officer being shot. Tong is a very serious cop that is very passionate at his work.
On the street Tong and (Liu Kai-Chi) eyes Cheung Yat-Tung(Philip Keung) and other suspected armed robbers getting into a car. They tail the suspects which leads to a massive car crash. Cheung jumps into another car. Tong chases the car and starts shooting at it. The car swirves uncontrollably and stops on the side walk. Tong carefully walks up to the car but everyone is dead or unconciou. He sees that there's blood leaking from the trunk. There was a little girl dead in the trunk from his shots.

3 months later, Cheung is indicted for armed robbery that was before the massive car crash. His prosecutor is Ann Gao (Zhang Jingchu). [It turns out that the little girl in the truck was Ann's daugther. They had hijacked Ann's car after their car crashed] Tong is stuck with gilt and has become friends with the little girl's twin, Ling (Wong Suet-Yin).

Cheung hires Hung (Nick Cheung) to kidnapps Ling to extort Ann into destroying evidence in Cheung's case. Tong goes through trash to find the caller that was trying to extort Ann.
Hung is willing to do anyone's bidding to earn money. One of Hung's eye is blind and another is going blind because there are pieces of glass stuck inside. Nick cares for his wife (Miao Pu) who is paralyzed and can only use her thumb to text Nick messages.

Ann does what the kidnappers request for fear the loss of her remaining daughter, Ann is adamant about not informing the police. However, Tong witnessed the kidnapping and is already on the case, and will stop at nothing to make sure that Ling is safe from harm. Tong finds Hung's hideout and his paralyzed wife. Tong puts Hung's wife in an ambulance to the hospital. Hung gets back in time to kidnapps the ambulance. At the end Hung, Hung's wife, Ling and Tong is in an empty construction site. Tong begins a long fight to return Ling safe and unharmed.  

From the fight Hung ends up completely blind and asks Tong to take him to his wife. At her bedside, Hung remembers the day she became paralyzed. Hung's profession is a killer. One day while walking in the street with his pregnant wife, they get chased by thugs that want to kill him. They jump into a car and Hung's wife goes into labor. Hung pushes the gas peddle to get her to a hospital and thats when they get into a nasty car accident. [coinvidentally, the accident also involved Tong and his car chase with Cheung in the beginning of the movie] 

At the end Hung is arrested and his wife taken away. Tong brings Ling safely back to her mother.
